Week of 3/18/13 - 3/22/13

Happy St. Patrick's weekend!!  We are done with ISATs!! Thank you, again, to all the parents who sent in healthy snacks. It was much appreciated! We have one more week of school before spring break. Lots to do!! It is also the final week of 3rd quarter! Wow...

We have some exciting news in room 105... My auction prize of a classroom movie/pizza party brought in $210.00!! The money will go to the school and the class will be having a fun pizza party (on me) the week we return from break. Thank you to Leo's family for the very generous bid. I understand there were other bidders as well and I thank you all for your generosity.

Coming up next week:

Spelling: Lesson 21. Pretest on Monday. Everyone will do the cursive hw, due Tuesday. Challenge folks will do 2 activities, due Thursday. Non-challenge will work on pages 127 & 128 from Vol. 2, practice workbook, also due on Thursday. Those people will take the final test on Friday.

English: We will be taking a bit of a break this week. When we return after spring break, we'll start pronouns.

Reading: We will continue watching the movie Stone Fox. It will be interesting to compare and contrast the book and the film. There will be a 3rd and final vocabulary quiz on Tuesday covering words from chapters 8-10. Learning Logs are due on Monday.

Social Studies: We'll continue our study of the wonderful city of Chicago. Quiz #2 will be on Wednesday. A study guide will be going home on Monday.

Science: Continuing chapter 10 this week. We will be creating our own moon phases using Oreos... Should be interesting! I'm waiting until after spring break to begin lesson 3.

Mrs. Klacza's Math Class: Our test date for chapters 16 & 22 is Monday, 3/18. Students have gone over the 2 study guides for both chapters. On Tuesday, we'll start a very short chapter (7) on probability. The test for chapter 7 will be Friday. It will be a busy (but fun) week!
