Week of 2/3/2020 - 2/7/2020

Happy Friday and Happy February!  As much as I dislike January,
it truly flew by!  Groundhog Day is Sunday, and it looks to be a good
one!  Congrats to the third grade spelling bee champ Hailey!
She’ll be competing against representatives from grades 3-8, on
February 11.  Let’s wish her luck!!

Coming Up Next Week:

Spelling:  New Spelling words & homework menus will be coming
home.  The homework will be due on or before 2/13.

This coming week we’ll be focusing on text structures and non-fiction
text features. We’ll also begin our country reports. Students will
be researching the country of their heritage. If there is more than
one country/nationality, students will choose one.  This will all lead
to a culture presentation later in February.

Social Science: We continue our science unit on inheritance
and traits.

Our Chapter 3 Social Studies test will take place on Wednesday.
There will be a study guide coming home today.  Students should
answer the questions right on the paper (they can use the back
as well.)  These study guides will be allowed on their desks during
the test.  We will play a fun review game on Tuesday.

Mrs. Klacza's Math Class: This week we begin Unit 5 on Multiplication,
Division, and Area.  The times 6 quiz will be on Wednesday!
