Week of 1/13/2020 - 1/17/2020

We have hit the ground running and are working hard in 2020.  A
lot of projects are being worked on in room 105 and many are coming up!
Keep an eye on that assignment notebook and this weekly blog.

Coming Up Next Week:

Spelling:  Spelling homework will be due on or before January 17.
There will be a test on those words on Friday as well.

Reading & Language Arts:  We’ve written our New Year’s Resolutions
and now we are creating argumentative (persuasive) essays on why
“Our” animal teeth are the very best!

Social Science: We continue our science unit on inheritance
and traits. We’ll also be diving in to our Communities Social Studies
textbook to begin our unit on culture and immigration. Here’s how
This unit plays out: We’ll read a lesson (there are 4,) take notes,
then take an open book, open note quiz.  The first one will be on
Wednesday and I will model how to find the answers using the book
and notes.  This is a great unit to demonstrate good study skills!

Mrs. Klacza's Math Class: Our class has won a marble party today!
I will be treating the students to Dunkin donuts and they will have
some game time at the end of the period.

Unit 4 continues. There will be a short quiz Tuesday on time.  On
Wednesday, there will be a X11 quiz.

Important Dates:
01/20 - MLK Birthday (Day off)
01/29 - Early Dismissal (11:00)
02/13 - Valentine’s Day party
02/14 - No School (conference week)
