Week of 1/27/2020 - 1/31/2020

Happy Friday!  We are having some crazy winter weather!  Stay warm this
weekend.  Congratulations and good luck to Hailey and Drew who will both
represent our class in the grade level spelling bee on Monday.  I am very
proud of all my spellers!  As we inch our way to February, please make sure
you are checking your child’s grades online frequently.  We are halfway
through the year already; it’s so hard to believe!

Coming Up Next Week:

Spelling:  Spelling menu homework is due on or before Friday, 1/31.
There will be a test that day as well.

Reading & Language Arts:  Please continue to remind your child to
read daily and fill in the January Log. We are using our Communities
textbooks during Reading class to help us fluently read and comprehend
our unit, which focuses on culture. We’ll also be learning more about
main idea and details, getting us ready for our country reports!

Social Science: We continue our science unit on inheritance
and traits. We’ll also be continuing in our Communities Social Studies
textbook reading about immigration. Lesson 4 will be read on Monday.
Notes will be taken and can be used for the quiz on Tuesday.  We
will also finish up our immigration scrapbooks.  The following week
(Feb. 5) will tentatively be our Chapter 3 test.  There will be a
study guide coming home before the test.

Mrs. Klacza's Math Class:  We’ll continue our lessons on fractions.
A X4 quiz will take place on Wednesday.  Pretest/study guides will
go home to be completed on Monday.  We’ll go over it on Thursday
(due date.)  The Unit 4 test will take place on Friday, 1/31.

Conference sign-up on Sign-Up Genius should be coming out early next
week.  These winter conferences are for my math students.  I hope
to see you all soon!
