Week of 4/30/18 - 5/4/18

Happy “almost” May!!  Thank you to all the families who came to

our Open House last night; we had a wonderful turnout! I was listening
to some of the students present their work and it really touched me.
They are so proud of their accomplishments!

Coming Up Next Week:

Spelling:  Three menu activities will be due on or before May 4.  The test will be

Friday as well.

Reading & Language Arts:  We’ll continue reading The One and Only Ivan.  

As we read, we’ll discuss and work in an Ivan packet as well.

Turn in day for the April Log will be May 1 (Tuesday.)  A new May Log

will go home on Tuesday as well. This will be the final sheet for the year.

Social Science: Hooray!  We’ll be starting Mystery Science on Monday; the topic

is animals.

Mrs. Klacza's Math Class:  We continue Unit 7 on extending multiplication and
fractions.  The students will be making posters to show how to solve one
digit by two digit multiplication problems.

Week of 4/23/18 - 4/27/18

We’ve finished PARCC testing! We are also halfway through the

third trimester of third grade; we will definitely make it count!!

Today marks the halfway point of the third trimester of 3rd grade.
Unbelievable! Please make sure to check your child’s grades online.
Open House and Book Fair is Thursday from 6:30 - 8:00. There
are so many exciting projects to behold; I hope you can all come to room 105!!

Sunday is officially Earth Day so we celebrate our beautiful,fragile

Earth today at PV!  

Coming Up Next Week:

Monday. Three activities will be due on or before May 4.

Social Science: We’ll be continuing our Chicago unit this week. Our final

test will be on Thursday.  A study guide, which the students need to

fill out, will go home on Tuesday.  They may use it on the test Thursday!

Mrs. Klacza's Math Class:  We continue Unit 7 on extending multiplication
and fractions.  There will be a short checkpoint quiz on Friday.

Week of 4/16/18 - 4/20/18

We’ll be testing PARCC ELA this coming week.  Please make sure your

child gets a good night’s sleep, a healthy breakfast, and a good snack!
Most importantly: Chromebooks will need to be fully charged every night
and earphones should be brought to school daily!  A mouse is also an excellent
tool for PARCC tests.

It was a little difficult coming back after a wonderful Spring Break, but
we all adjusted just fine and will be taking the Math PARCC tests this
coming week. We’ll be testing ELA the week of 4/16.  Please make sure
your child gets a good night’s sleep, a healthy breakfast, and a good

we’ll be creating cows that tell another story about how the Great Chicago Fire
started!   We’ll also be reading about the political changes that occurred after
the Chicago Fire.

Mrs. Klacza's Math Class:  Our test date for Unit 6 will be Monday, April 9.
We’ll be taking the PARCC math tests in our math classes so we’ll be taking a
little break from our lessons.
