Week of 10/21/19 - 10/25/19

Thank you to all the parents who signed up for a conference! I got a
100% of you to sign up! That is a record for me! Have a great weekend.

Coming Up Next Week:

Spelling:  Menu homework is due on or before Friday, October 25.
The test will also take place that day.  I introduced the students to
“Pyramid words” which they may do on notebook paper and use as
one of their tasks.

Reading & Language Arts:  We’ll be doing a lot of writing this coming week!
Students will be describing a mystery object of their choice and also
having some fun with similes.  This all leads to our big writing project,
“Buy My Haunted House.” Students will be using adjectives and all kinds
of descriptive words.

October reading logs are due by November 1.

Social Science: We are studying Downers Grove with our focus on
Israel Blodgett and his family, Prince Pond, the Tivoli Theater
and the Underground Railroad.

Mrs. Klacza's Math Class: We are moving along in Unit 3. We’ll keep
our focus on strategies for subtraction.

Important Dates:
10/29 & 10/30 - Conferences (homeroom only)
10/31 - Halloween Parade & Party
11/1 - Day off for conferences
