Week of 10/14/19 - 10/18/19

We are halfway through the 1st trimester of third grade!  Can you believe it?
Hopefully, grades are being monitored online.  If you are having problems doing so,please call the office. Have a wonderful Columbus Day weekend! I’m hoping the weather will cooperate but I’m not too hopeful!!!

A separate email will be going out today to homeroom parents for
conference sign up.  They will be scheduled for the last week of
October.


Coming Up Next Week:


Spelling:  Our second spelling test will take place today. Menu homework
was also due. On Tuesday, students will be getting their new words and
menu. It’ll be due on or before Friday, October 25.


Reading & Language Arts: Morty the Meany and Morty and the Twice Fit Mice
will be the stories we’re reading this week. We’ll also start our unit on
descriptive writing. 

We started Daily Oral Language this week, focusing on capitalization and
end marks. There will be a quiz on Friday.


October reading logs are due by November 1.


Social Science: We are studying Downers Grove with our focus on
Pierce Downer, Israel Blodgett and his family, the Potawami Indians, and
the Underground Railroad. 


Mrs. Klacza's Math Class: We are moving along in Unit 3. This week’s 
focus will be on multi-digit subtraction. There will be a short checkpoint quiz on Wednesday.

10/29 & 10/30 - Conferences (homeroom only)
10/31 - Halloween Parade & Party
11/1 - Day off for conferences

11/4 - Teachers’ Institute (Day off)
