Week of 3/5/18 - 3/9/18

That old saying about the month of March, “In like a lion, out like
a lamb” really holds true! Cold and rainy today but certainly getting
better soon!  Today marks the end of Trimester 2. Grades will be
updated and completed soon. I cannot believe we are two-thirds
of the way through third grade!!

Coming Up Next Week:

Spelling:  On Monday, students will be taking home a new list of spelling
words to sort and use for homework.  A new menu will also be going
home (Menu 4.)  All homework will be due on or before 3/16.

Reading & Language Arts:  We will be continuing our study of non-fiction
pieces and learning about text features. Also, a new March reading
log went home yesterday!  They will be due on or before April 2.

Social Science: We’ll be continuing our Chicago unit this week.
We’ll be specifically studying early history, lakes & rivers, and
the first Chicagoans.

Mrs. Klacza's Math Class:  We’ll continue Unit 6 on geometry
this week, specifically studying tangrams, constructing polygons,
and using geoboards.  There will be a checkpoint quiz on Monday, 3/12.
The students will take their X9 quiz on Wednesday.

Important Dates:
3/2  - Institute Day (no school for students)
3/22 - Shedd Aquarium field trip (third grade - permission slips coming
home soon!)
3/23 - Last day before Spring Break begins!

Have a great weekend!!
