Week of 3/19/18 - 3/23/18

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!  "May the road rise up to meet you and the wind
be always at your back…" Enjoy your weekend! We are coming up to the
final week before Spring Break. We are visiting the Shedd Aquarium
on Thursday!!  Please make sure your child brings a totally disposable
lunch/brunch on that day. We’ll be eating super early, 10:00 a.m.,
(this is the only time we could get into the Shedd lunchroom) so
students don’t need a morning snack since we won’t have time to eat
it here at school.  We are so lucky to be able to see our beautiful city
and take in the Shedd for free!

Coming Up Next Week:

Spelling:  Due to Spring Break, we’ll take a spelling break this week.

Reading & Language Arts:  We’ll continue reading The One and Only Ivan.  

As we read, we’ll discuss and work in an Ivan packet as well.

I hope your child is reading and filling out his/her March reading log;

They will be due on or before April 2.

Social Science: We’ll be continuing our Chicago unit this week. We’ll be
specifically studying the Industrial Boom and The Great Chicago Fire.
Students will be making a “Great Chicago Fire flip book” this week.

Mrs. Klacza's Math Class:  We’ll continue Unit 6 on geometry this week,
specifically studying perimeter and area.  Tentative test date for
Unit 6 will be April 9.

3/22 - Shedd Aquarium field trip

3/23 - Last day before Spring Break begins!
