Our Valentine’s Day party will be on Tuesday. Thank you in advance to my wonderful parent volunteers for running the “show” and to those who are sending in treats and supplies. The kids will have a ball!! We’ll be distributing our Valentines earlier that day.
We’ll be having an in-school field trip on Tuesday, 2/21, that we like to call “Matter Matters.” Scientists from High Touch, High Tech will be coming in to teach us all about the states of matter.
Coming up Next Week:
Spelling: New spelling words will be coming home on Monday. Your child will need to hand in 4 activities from the Menu on or before Friday, 2/24.
Reading & Language Arts: We continue our unit Culture and Traditions. We’ll be starting on our “Culture Day” activity this week. A letter and other information will be coming home Wednesday. I will be assigning 5 presentations a day, starting 2/22.
Keep working on reading logs for February!
Social Studies: We’ll continue to read out of our Social Studies textbooks during our reading block, as we learn about immigration and culture. Students have been collaboratively working on note taking and open book quizzes. This is a cross-curricular activity. Grades will be appearing as part of English/Language Arts. The final assessment will take place on Wednesday.
Mrs. Klacza's Math Class: We continue Unit 5, Multiplication, Division, and Area. There will be a short checkpoint quiz on Thursday. There will also be a X7 test on that same day (sorry, it’s a short week!) Remember, students can retake a times test the following week and I’ll accept the higher grade. I look forward to sitting down with many of you on Monday & Wednesday. However, if you ever have a question or concern, feel free to email me!
