Week of 4/6/15 - 4/10/15

At today’s end we begin Spring Break.   May it be restful and rejuvenate us all.  Stay safe everyone!
We enjoyed our marble party yesterday.  I’m hoping perhaps we can earn one more before year end.  WE CAN DO IT!!!

Coming up the week after break:
Spelling:  No spelling due to the shortened week.

Language Arts: We will continue our new unit “Tales as Old as Time.”  We are close reading the short story Mulan and our read-aloud is The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling.

We’ll finish typing our autobiography project this week.

There will be no WOW words until 4/13.

Social Studies: We will continue our Chicago unit, specifically focusing on the Great Chicago Fire.

Science:  We’ll begin our next unit of study, the solar system.  Our first graded review will cover lesson 1, the seasons, and will take place on Thursday.  Of course, the children may use their textbooks and notes.

Mrs. Klacza's Math Class:  After a difficult couple of chapters on fractions, we’ll have a little fun and create fraction pizzas.   Look for them at Open House!   Our next unit of study will be Unit 11, Geometry.

Important Dates:
3/27 - End of Day, Spring Break begins!
4/7 - Teacher Institute (no school)
4/8 - Back to school!
4/30 - Open House & Book Fair
