Week of 3/9/15 - 3/13/15

It looks like we’ll be having some weather improvement this coming week!   Hopefully, the children will be able to go outside at recess; they truly need it!! Don't forget, this is the weekend we "spring forward."
As we enter week 2 of PARCC testing, please make sure your child wears his/her glasses to school.  Also, a good night’s sleep and a healthy meal plan is essential to success.  We’ll be testing Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  This week’s tests will be Reading.

 Coming up this week:

Spelling:  Since we have 3 afternoons of PARCC testing, there will be no spelling this week.

Language Arts: We will continue to wrap up our Traditions unit.  We’ve begun our autobiography project, specifically writing the rough draft this week.  We’ll start typing them the week of 3/16.

We will continue with a new set of WOW words.  The quiz will be Friday.

This week we will continue working in our English textbook, focusing on Adverbs!

Social Studies: We will continue our Chicago unit this week, specifically focusing on lakes & rivers and the first Chicagoans.

Science:  We’ll continue chapter 14, Heat, Light, and Sound.  Our lesson 3 graded review will be on Thursday.

Mrs. Klacza's Math Class:  We will conclude Unit 9, Understanding Fractions.  We’ll pretest on Friday for our Unit 9 test on Monday, 3/16.
