Week of March 2, 2015 - March 6, 2015

Will March come in like a lion and go out like a lamb?   The lion part is certainly true! Spring will be here before we know it...
PARCC testing will begin this week.  We’ve already taken a practice test in the lab.  If you’d like to check the practice tests out at home, I’ve attached some links:   http://nextgen.apps.sparcc.org/la/3-5  (Language Arts)
Please make sure your child wears his/her glasses to school, especially during the PARCC tests.  Also, a good night’s sleep and a healthy meal plan is essential to success.
Coming up this week:
Spelling: Lesson 20.   Cursive due Tuesday, All other homework due Thursday.   Test Friday, “challenge words” students excused from test.   Please make sure your child is using notebook paper for homework!

Language Arts: We will wrap up our Traditions unit.  We’ll also be starting on an autobiography project, specifically writing the rough draft this week.

We will continue with a new set of WOW words.  The quiz will be Friday.

This week we will continue working in our English textbook, learning all about adjectives and adverbs.  There will be a graded review (quiz) on adjectives only on Friday, 3/6.

Social Studies: We will begin our Chicago unit this week, specifically focusing on the early history.

Science:  We’ll continue chapter 14, Heat, Light, and Sound.  Our lesson 2 graded review will be on Tuesday.
