This
will be the final week I will accept book reports. Our reading party
will take place on 5/30 for all those students who met their goal.
Lots of other important events coming up in the next few weeks; check
the dates at the end of this blog.
Coming
up this week:
Spelling: Lesson 33: Pretest Monday, spelling practice HW due Tuesday, workbook pages due Thursday, final test on Friday. THIS IS OUR FINAL SPELLING LESSON!!!!
English: The students will be writing their final persuasive pieces Monday. Furthermore, we are finishing our unit on adverbs this week. A short “quest” will take place on Thursday.
Reading: We will finish our fantasy novels this week. A culminating book project will be assigned later in the week.
Social Studies: Our Chapter 12 test will be on Wednesday. This will be our last formal test in social studies. For the final week, groups of students will choose a lesson in the text book we haven't been able to cover and present it to the class. It should be interesting!!
Science:
Lesson 2, “How do the Earth and Moon Compare?” quick study will
be Monday. We'll then read, take notes, and have a quick study on
lesson 3, which focuses on the rest of the solar system. That quick
study will most likely be the final grade for science. Aw, shucks...
Mrs. Klacza's Math Class: Tree diagrams on Monday, practice test/review on Tuesday, test on chapter 17 Wednesday. We'll then take our last few math days to explore multiplication and division of fractions.
