A
few items of note for the coming week: We are so lucky to be able to
watch the LV musical, Once
Upon a Mattress,
on Thursday. We will also have a presentation on Friday by John
Lynn on his expedition on the Lewis and Clark trail. Check the
calendar below for all these important dates.
Remember
to check those grades on line! Also, we only have a couple more
weeks to complete book reports for our “Book is a Treasure”
program.
Coming
up this week:
Spelling: Lesson 32: Pretest Monday, spelling practice HW due Tuesday, workbook pages due Thursday, final test on Friday.
English: We are starting our unit on adverbs this week. Students will be meeting Lolly! We'll also work on writing another persuasive essay.
Reading: We continue our fantasy novel unit. We gathered in “book clubs” to discuss important aspects of each novel and the students really contributed nicely! Our read aloud book Night of the Twisters ended and we will be watching and comparing the movie to the book this week.
Social Studies: Chapter 12 continues this week. We learn about the beginnings of the industrial revolution (lesson 2) and create our own “Fortunately, Unfortunately” booklet as well as a flap book for lesson 3.
Science:
Lesson 2, “How do the Earth and Moon Compare?” will be studied
this week. We probably won't see a quick study on this lesson until
the week of 5/21.
Mrs. Klacza's Math Class: Our math test on chapter 9 (Data) will be on Tuesday. We will then move on to Probability (chapter 17.) There are only 3 lessons so I'll tentatively be testing on 5/22.
