Week of 2/11/19 - 2/15/19

Our Valentine’s Day party will be on Thursday. Thank you in advance
to my wonderful parent volunteers for running the “show” and to those
who are sending in treats and supplies.  The kids will have a ball!!
We’ll be distributing our Valentines earlier that day.  Please make sure
every child in our class gets a valentine from your child.
I will send home a list of names today.

Today I am introducing the Culture Day project to your children. Their
homework for the weekend will be to choose the country they’d like to
research.  It should be connected to your family’s culture. Please make sure
your child writes it in their assignment notebook for Monday.

Coming Up Next Week:

Spelling: The due date for menu homework is Thursday, 2/14.  The test
will also happen on that day.

Reading & Language Arts:  This week we’ll be starting our Culture Day
research project.  It involves researching various aspects of a country,
creating a book, and sharing an oral presentation on your country.
More details will be shared as we march on through February.

Social Science: We will continue our Science curriculum, “Amplify.”

We finished our Social Studies unit on Immigration which will lead
to the above-mentioned Culture Day.

Mrs. Klacza's Math Class:  This week we begin Unit 5, Multiplication,
Division, and Area.  We’ll focus on multiplication and division this week.
The X8 times table test will be on Wednesday.  A practice sheet will
come home on Monday.
