Week of 1/28/19 - 2/1/19

Happy Friday! We are having some crazy winter weather! Stay warm this
weekend.  Congratulations and good luck to Ava and Luke who will both
represent our class in the grade level spelling bee on Wednesday. I am very
proud of all my spellers! As we inch our way to February, please make sure
you are checking your child’s grades online frequently. We are halfway through
the year already; it’s so hard to believe!

Coming Up Next Week:

Spelling: Menu homework will be due on or before 2/1.  The test will
also occur on that day.

Reading & Language Arts:  We’ll continue our cross-curricular study
of immigration as we read our Communities book. Our next quiz will
be on Monday (lesson 3.)  Remember, they are open book, open notes!
However, I encourage the students to bring home their textbooks
and reread what has been read at school.

January reading logs will be due on or before February 1.

Social Science: We will continue our Science curriculum, “Amplify.”

Mrs. Klacza's Math Class:  Unit 4 will continue. We’ll be focusing on
fractions next week.  Also, X6 test will be on Wednesday.  It looks
like our Unit 4 post assessment will be on Tuesday, Feb. 5.

Important Dates:
1/31 - Early Dismissal
2/12 & 2/13 - Math Conferences (sign up coming soon!)
2/14 - Valentine’s Day parties
2/15 - Conference Day (off)
2/18 - Presidents’ Day (off)

Have a great weekend!
