Week one of PARCC is done!! We completed the ELA portion; now on to Math for week two. We will be taking this week’s exams with our math classes. A gentle reminder to please make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep, eats a healthy breakfast, and brings a healthy snack to school.
Our students will be needing colored pencils or crayons this coming week for some cool projects. Many students do not have them anymore. If your child needs them, can you check and see if you have some at home and send them in? Thanks!
Coming up next week:
Spelling: We have a spelling test on Monday (typically should be today, but because of PARCC, I postponed it.)
A new “sort” is coming home on Monday. Six spelling activities (2 from each column) need to be completed by Friday, 4/29. The test will be on the same day.
Reading & Language Arts: We’re continuing our third and final reading unit:”Stand Up for what You Believe In!” We’re finishing up The One and Only Ivan.
We’re continuing using RAZ kids in class in lieu of book reports. Students need to read stories online and answer comprehension questions following each story.
April Reading Logs are due on or before May 2.
Social Studies: We will be continuing our Chicago unit. We’ve started the third and final section. Test III will be on Tuesday, 4/26. Study guides will be allowed!
Science: We will start reading about the solar system during our Reading/ELA stations. (Yes, I’ve written this before; we will get to it, I promise!)
Mrs. Klacza's Math Class: This week we take PARCC tests Tuesday-Friday. We’ll work on Unit 7 Monday and continue the week of 4/25.
