Today marks the halfway point of Trimester 2, which means we are about halfway through third grade! Can you believe it?? Please make sure you check your child’s grades on line.
Coming up next week:
Spelling: Students will receive their next group of words on Monday. They should be sorting their words every night. Six activities need to be completed by Friday, 2/5. The test will be on 2/5 as well.
Reading & Language Arts: We’re continuing our culture and traditions unit. We’re finishing up When Lightning Comes in a Jar, by Patricia Polacco.
We’re finishing up our mystery novels this week. Rather than an Independent Reading Contract, students are required to complete a book report. These will mostly be done in class during our daily stations. The final products are due on February 1. Also, keep reading for the January log!
Read to Succeed sheets for Great America tickets are due on or before February 1.
Congratulations to Izzy and Wes who will represent our class in the third grade spelling bee on Wednesday.
Social Studies: We are on hiatus!!
Science: We’re continuing the study of matter. We are starting Lesson 2 on Tuesday which discusses the states of matter.
Mrs. Klacza's Math Class: Our assessment on Unit 4 will be on Tuesday, 1/26. We’ll go over the pre-assessment together on Monday. We’ll then begin Unit 5 on multiplication, division, and area. Today marks the halfway point of trimester 2; please make sure you’re checking your child’s math grades on line!
