Week of 3/10/14 - 3/14/14

This week is the second and final week of ISAT exams.   Thank you to those families who sent in healthy snacks.  We should have enough to get us through the coming week.  A healthy breakfast and plenty of sleep are always important particularly during testing! Thank you!!
Don't forget to "spring ahead" this weekend! Perhaps the weather will cooperate with our longer days!!

Coming up next week:
Spelling: We will be taking a break from Spelling for the next 2 weeks.  We’ll resume with Lesson 21 on Monday, 3/24.

English:  I’ve collected and graded the autobiographies.  The children will be “fixing” their graded papers for Open House.  We’ll start our unit on Pronouns come Friday.

Reading:  This week, we are continuing to read our novel, Stone Fox.  Our final vocabulary quiz will occur on Thursday. Students will be watching the movie in two parts this week and next and comparing and contrasting the book and the movie.

Social Studies:  We will continue our Chicago unit.  This week, we will focus on the waterways and the Industrial Boom.  Our first quiz is on Tuesday.

Science:   We’ll start chapter 10, Earth’s Place in the Solar System on Monday.  Our first graded review will be Thursday (open book, open notes.)

Mrs. Klacza's Math Class:  I have a test on chapter 10 (fractions unit) scheduled for Wednesday, 3/12.   We’ll also take our final 2 ISAT tests this week.
