Week of 3/12/12 - 3/16/12

One more day for ISAT testing – only the 3rd reading section on Monday and then we are DONE! Our “Dig into a Good Book” party will be Wednesday, 3/14. The children chose the movie Percy Jackson and The Lightening Thief. I like to choose movies that are based on literature for this party. We will be bringing in healthy snacks to share. If you are shopping this weekend, perhaps you might see something we would all enjoy?? A permission slip for this movie, which is rated PG, will be coming home on Monday.

Coming up this week:

Spelling: Lesson 24: Pretest Monday, spelling practice HW due Tuesday, workbook pages due Thursday, final test on Friday.

English: We will visit the computer lab on Monday to finish up the typing of our “Me Front Page.” A pretest for our next unit on Verbs will occur on Tuesday. We'll then start with action verbs!

Reading: We will complete our literature circles this week. Please remind your child to bring their books back to school each and every day. There will be some “book work” to end our novels.

Social Studies: This week we begin chapter 10, “Forming a New Government.” Get ready to listen to the preamble from your child!! Schoolhouse Rock has a great version and you can find it on youtube.

Science: Our quick study will be on Tuesday for lesson 3. We will have a couple days of reviewing before our chapter 11 test on Monday, 3/19.

Mrs. Klacza's Math Class: We will revisit lessons 1-3 of our fractions chapter and take a couple days for lesson 4 on mixed numbers. There will be a quiz on lessons 1-4 on Thursday.
