Week of 9/16/19 - 9/20/19

Happy Friday everyone!  It’s Friday the 13th, a full moon, AND
a palindrome (9/13/19.) It should be an interesting day!  Wish me
Luck!  I hope everyone has a great, relaxing weekend.

Coming Up Next Week:

Spelling:  The Spelling menu homework will be due on or before Friday, 9/27.
Some activities will require you to initial in the box on the menu.
Some activities will require work done on a sheet of notebook paper.
Three activities are required. The test will also be on Friday the 27th.
The test will include 15 words from the student's list (teacher's choice)
and 2 sentences, using any of their 2 words. A letter will be coming
home explaining everything on Monday.

Reading & Language Arts:  Instructions for your child’s “Me Bag” are coming
home today. There will be an extensive writing project and presentation
that goes along with the items they put in their bags. The students are
bringing home a big ziploc bag. (I ran out of brown paper bags.)  Please
replace it with a brown bag, if you have one at home, before sending in
the 3 items. Please send these items to school before Wednesday.

Social Science: We’ve started continents and oceans.  There will be
plenty of fun activities done for this unit which will lead up to a quiz.
The tentative date for that quiz is 9/25.

Mrs. Klacza's Math Class:  In math, we’ll be working hard on Unit 1
Addition & Subtraction Patterns.  The focus this coming week will be
on the subtraction table.  There will be a short checkpoint quiz on
Tuesday, 9/17.  We’ll then start learning about length and addition of
length.

Important Dates:
9/26 - Johnny Appleseed’s Birthday
10/2 - Early Dismissal

10/14 - Columbus Day (no school)
