Week of 5/15/17 - 5/19/17

Happy Mother's Day to all the fabulous Moms!   I hope you are appreciated and pampered on Sunday!!   We had a wonderful zoo day on Thursday.  Thank you to all the parents who came along to chaperone.  You are all the best!!



Coming up Next Week:
Spelling:  New “sorting” words will be coming home on Monday.  Our final set of menu homework and our final spelling test in third grade will be on Friday, 5/26.  


Reading & Language Arts:  We are continuing  The One and Only Ivan.  We’ll be focusing on continuing the reading and discussion using our Ivan packets.


The final reading log for May is now in your hands.  They will be due on or before 5/30.  This is a bit early but I’ve got to get the grades in!  


Completed cursive workbooks are due on or before May 22. Please know this was assigned at the very beginning of the school year and every morning is devoted to getting some of it done.


Social Studies:   We will be taking a hiatus from Social Studies.  


Science:   Chapter 4 in our textbooks, “Ecosystems”, will be completed.  On Tuesday, we will have an open book/notes graded review (quiz) on Lesson 4.  A study guide will be going home on Monday to prepare the students for their unit test on Thursday.   We’ll then be exploring a new program called “Mystery Science.”


Mrs. Klacza's Math Class:  We continue Unit 7 this week on “Extending Multiplication and Fractions”.  We’ll focus on egg carton & pizza fractions this week.  There will be a short checkpoint quiz on Friday.  Our Unit 7 test will take place on Thursday, 5/25.

5/31 - Third graders go bowling
6/1 - Field Days
6/2 - Last Day of 3rd grade
