Week of 4/18/11 - 4/22/11

I hope to see you all on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. for our TGFD graduation. We will be meeting in the gym and all are invited! Don't forget, Thursday is an early (11:00) dismissal day and Friday there will be no school. The students have earned their second marble party for good behavior. We will be having a celebration in our classroom on Wednesday, 4/27. I will supply the healthy treats.

Coming up this week:

Mrs. Klacza's Reading Class: This week we will continue reading the novel Toliver's Secret, using our very important reading skills. Added to those skills, we will continue to summarize the chapters and also work on vizualizing and character development.

Spelling: There will be no spelling due to our early dismissal and day off this week.

English: We have finished our chapter on pronouns! We will review on Monday and Wednesday, and take our test on Thursday.

Social Studies: Lesson 2 begins this week entitled, “Jefferson Looks West.” The students will be making some mini-books and watching a new Schoolhouse Rock song, “Elbow Room.”

Science: We finished our reading and notes for lesson 2 on the water cycle. We will specifically focus on clouds this week using a worksheet and a mimio and take our “quick study” on Wednesday.

Mrs. Klacza's Math Class: After our “target test” on fractions Monday, we'll begin to learn about measurement, both customary and metric, starting on Tuesday.

Important Dates:
4/20 – TGFD Graduation at 8:30 (all are invited!!)
4/21 – Early dismissal and district fund raiser at Panda Express
4/22 – Good Friday (no school)

Have a wonderful weekend! Mrs. Klacza
